Events & Education

HospitalityLawyer.com® events bring together the people who shape, operate, advise, and protect the hospitality and travel industries. Through conferences, virtual programs, and specialized events, we provide timely education on the legal, operational, safety, security, and risk issues that affect businesses every day. Just as importantly, our events create opportunities to connect across the professional silos that can make it difficult to see the bigger picture.

Where Hospitality Meets Legal Expertise.

The Hospitality Law Conference brings together hospitality attorneys, owners, operators, and professionals from across the industry to examine the legal and business issues affecting hotels and restaurants. Held annually in Houston and Washington, DC, the HLC combines expert presentations, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and networking in an intimate setting that encourages conversation rather than simply filling a room. The focus is on current, real-world issues and information that can help hospitality businesses manage risk, reduce liability, and make better-informed decisions. Relevant Education, Throughout the Year.

Our quarterly virtual seminars keep hospitality professionals connected to important legal, risk, safety, and operational issues between our in-person conferences. Each 90-minute program focuses on a specific area of concern—from labor and employment and restaurant industry challenges to risk management, loss prevention, and contract food service—featuring experienced subject-matter speakers and, at times, moderated panel discussions. Programs are offered live, with opportunities to ask questions and connect with speakers, and are typically made available on demand afterward. See upcoming virtual programs.

One Certification.

Two Ways In.

The Hospitality Law Certification Program

We've been building this for thirty years. Our self-paced certification, shaped by three decades in hospitality law. For the professionals who lead the industry and the attorneys who represent it.

Why Participate in Our Events & Education?

Our programs focus on issues that hospitality professionals actually encounter. Sessions draw on current law, real cases, industry experience, and increasingly, hypothetical scenarios that give participants an opportunity to consider how they would respond when a problem arises.

Hospitality issues rarely fit neatly into one category. Our programs bring together attorneys and other subject-matter experts—including professionals in loss prevention, insurance, safety, security, operations, and risk—to provide perspectives that reflect how these issues affect a business in practice.

HospitalityLawyer.com® events have brought the same community together for decades. Attendees return year after year, speakers become familiar faces, and professional relationships often continue well beyond the program itself. Whether you’re meeting a potential business partner, finding a resource for a problem you are facing, or simply getting to know someone in another part of the industry, the connections are part of what makes our events different.

Our programming is designed for the broader hospitality community—not just attorneys. Hospitality professionals can gain information to help manage their businesses and reduce risk, while attorneys can earn CLE credit and deepen their understanding of the industries they serve. Sponsors and industry partners also have opportunities to connect directly with the professionals who make decisions within hospitality organizations.

HospitalityLawyer.com® events bring together professionals from across the hospitality and travel industries, including:

Hospitality Attorneys & Corporate Counsel · Hotel Owners & Operators · Hotel Brands & Management Companies · Restaurant & Food Service Professionals · Risk Management & Loss Prevention Professionals · Safety & Security Professionals · Insurance Professionals · Consultants · Travel Professionals · Industry Vendors & Service Providers

Different roles may approach a problem from different directions. Bringing those perspectives together can help everyone better understand the issues—and sometimes identify a solution that might otherwise be missed.
